According to parents, Landon was developing within normal limits, meeting all milestone markers. However, when was 1 and a half years old, parents noticed regression in Landon’s development. This was marked with “tippy-tow walking, flapping and other self-stimulating behaviors, and would not consistently respond parents spoke to Landon. Landon was diagnosed with Autism and parents claimed Landon was considered non-verbal by 2023. Parents stated that Landon has inconsistently used the words “mama” and “dada.” In 2024, Landon was issues the Ablenet Quicktalker Freestyle AAC device while the family was stationed in Colorado. Since acquiring the AAC device, Landon has been able to use it to make basic requests/selections when prompted by parents with the phrase, “Use your words.” Parents stated that Landon will whine, babble, and/or point/grab items of desire and to express his communication wants/needs. Based on clinical observations, Landon’s current communication was characterized as no functional words, inconsistent closed mouth vocalizations, and inconsistently selecting the words “help,” and “play” from the Ablenet Quicktalker Freestyle after prompted by mother to “use your words.” The Preschool Language Scales Fifth Edition (PLS-5) was used to evaluate Landon’s receptive and expressive language skills, as well as the Early Functional Communication Profile (EFCP): A Dynamic Assessment for Social Communication Disorders. Based on Landon’s language background, and language input/output, the language of intervention will be English.
Speech Medical History: Per parent report, medical history is not remarkable. According to mother, Landon was born at full-term with no complications. Landon was developing within normal limits and meeting all milestone markers until the age of 18 months when parents noticed regression in Landon’s milestones.

However, Landon struggled to remain seated or engage in the assessment. Overall, Landon’s pragmatic skills presented with more weaknesses than strengths at this time.

Subjective: Patient was friendly and cooperative,

Assessment of Goals/Response to Treatment: Landon required maximal verbal and physical assistance to sustain attention to therapist-directed activities for more than 1–2 minutes, frequently attempting to leave tasks to engage with musical items. He engaged in container-opening tasks ( jars, snap lids) with maximal assistance. Demonstrated limited ability to stabilize with one hand while manipulating with the other. Presented with various textures (soft, rough, sticky). Landon demonstrated significant aversion, withdrawing hands, grimacing, and requiring maximal encouragement and assistance to engage. Attempted manipulation of fasteners (buttons, zippers) with maximal assistance. Demonstrated decreased coordination and sequencing. Activities targeting hand strength (squeezing, pulling) completed with maximal assistance. Landon showed limited sustained effort due to preference for music-related play. Landon would continue to benefit from skilled ot services to improve short term and long term goals.

Autistic nonverbal Seasonal allergies Takes vitamin d supplements 4.he met all the milestones at the appropriate time but he regressed at the age 1 1/2. He currently does not dress himself or combine words. He rarely says "mama" but a couple months ago he said "dada". He is 50 percent potty trained. 5. No sleeping or breathing problems. He sleeps about 10-11 hours(depends). Doesn't snore and sleeps with his mouth closed. 6. When he was 1yr 1/2 he started early intervention. 3 years he did a semester of pre m 3 1/2 he started ABA, speech and OT. And is still in ABA 7. Mostly English but also Spanish 8. None 9. Our concerns are primarily speech pronunciation and mimicking sounds that we do.
