Speech Medical History: Meghan was born at 41 weeks via a vaginal delivery. Nitger stated that there were no complications or concerns during the pregnancy. Meghan has not experienced any ear infections, nor any major illnesses or accidents. The only issue is that Meghan is having trouble weaning from the pacifier. Meghan also still uses a bottle. Mother stated that she has tried different sippy cups, however, Meghan refuses to wean from the bottle. Meghan has an audiologist appointment scheduled on January 8, 2025 with Dr. Andrea Sweetnam.

Then after that, it's just 1 time per week. Or we can do 3 times a week to get the 5 makeups out of the way. Or we can alternate, one week 2 times and the following week 1 time. Whatever works best for you because you work. I know it's difficult when you work. What would you prefer?

03-18-2025 12:11 PM	Christine Adame	Good morning, Ms. Kosgei! Today was a very rough day for Meghan. We began the session with "The Wheels on the Bus." After the song, I attempted to read "Green Eggs and Ham" to Meghan. She did not want to sit, and she kept trying to hide under my desk and climb the cabinets. I kept trying to move her towards the table so we could read. She became very upset and kept screaming. We have read other books before without a problem. This time she wanted to be in charge and hold the book. The issue is that she did not allow me to touch the book or read to her. She became upset when I tried to show her the book, she wanted to hold it and would keep running away from me. I eventually put the book away and turned on "relaxing music" to help calm her down. It would seem to help but then she would remember she was upset and begin to scream/cry. It wasn't really a cry at first, no tears were coming out. I tried to hold her and rock her...that helped for a little bit. She would again get upset and eventually she actually began to cry with tears. Your husband came into the room to help calm Meghan. He was able to calm her for intervals at a time. He told me that when Meghan cries, the way to calm her is to give her what she wants. He agreed that the only problem at the moment was that she might tear the book. He explained to me that when Meghan gets mad she throws things and she broke your TV at home. I was telling him that my concern is that she throws herself when she is upset. I tried different ways to calm her by keeping my distance, trying to rock her, and playing soft music. Unfortunately, I cannot give her what she wants when she gets upset because I am conditioning her to cry when she wants something. Also, she is learning that she can cry to get something instead of using her words. I just wanted to let you know how it went for Meghan today.
