Mother reported a full-term pregnancy and vaginal delivery with no complications and no NICU stay. At approximately 2 years of age, Francis began experiencing recurrent febrile seizures. Mother reported that medical providers completed multiple evaluations; however, no specific underlying cause was identified. Developmentally, mother reported that Francis achieved gross motor milestones, including crawling and walking, within expected timeframes. Mother reported concerns regarding delayed speech development, noting that Francis demonstrates limited verbal output despite appearing to understand a significant amount of spoken language. Francis is not currently enrolled in school and has no history of prior speech-language treatment. Socially, mother reported that Francis gets along with siblings but often prefers to play alone. Mother also reported that Francis is not yet potty trained. Primary concerns at this time include limited expressive language and difficulty using words to communicate wants and needs effectively.
