Feeding Background History: Aaliyah is a 6-year 4-month-old female who was referred by her pediatrician for a clinical feeding evaluation due to feeding difficulties characterized by limited food inventory. Aaliyah’s mother served as the informant for the clinical feeding evaluation. Aaliyah’s mother reported that Aaliyah was born full term via scheduled C-section. Her mother reported that she had frequent nausea and was unable to “keep any food” down during her pregnancy. Her mother reported that her pregnancy was classified as “high risk” due to a hole detected in Aaliyah’s heart, however, later resolved and closed on its own in utero. Aaliyah’s mother reported concerns with a limited food inventory and acceptance of new or different foods affecting her acceptance of whole food groups such as vegetables and fruits. She reported that she is often hesitant to try new and non-preferred foods. Her mother reported that feeding difficulties became evident around a time that Aaliyah went through a traumatic experience.
