Speech Background History: Samuel is a 2 year 8 month old male who was referred by his pediatrician for concerns regarding speech and language. Samuel's mother provided pertinent information which is later referenced in this report. Samuel is currently using mostly gestures, pulling parents towards desired objects and some verbal words such as "mama", "ball", "kitty", "juice", and "truck" to communicate his wants and needs. A child Samuel's age should have a vocabulary of 200 to 300 words, name most common objects, have an MLU of 1.5 to 2.0, use pronouns ME, MY, MINE, refer to self by name, use prepositions ON, IN, UNDER, understand what and where questions, understand actions words, identify family members, sort objects by shape and color. Mother stated he began to use his first single words at 8 months, however he regressed and stopped using words he previously had. She added that Samuel's father had delayed speech until he was 5 years old with the help of speech therapy in private setting and in school. Samuel was evaluated using the Preschool Language Scales (PLS¬5). The language of the evaluation was English, and was determined based on parent report of English exposure via media (YouTube videos, games, and TV), and the primary language spoken at home.
Speech Medical History: Samuel was born at 37 weeks via planned Cesarean section. Mother reported that experienced difficulty breathing on his own and was monitored in the NICU for a couple of hours and was released.

But then it'd never progress from there. Then he'd learn a new word and forget the rest. But now he says juice, mama, truck, kitty. Not much else
