This is a general message to all parents, do not text this number to reply. Happy New Year from Team New Beginnings! To start the new year right, we are sending some reminders of our policies.
1) Please make sure to inform your front office of any changes to your a) contact phone number, b) your address, c) your insurance, d) your pediatrician. We cannot serve you to the best of our ability if you do not inform us of changes to your personal information in a timely manner. Not informing us of changes may result in delayed authorization.
2) New Beginnings is not a licensed daycare, as such, please be advised that you cannot leave your child in therapy alone. You must remain on premises at all times should your child need assistance with toileting, behavior, or feeding. When you signed our paperwork at the initiation of therapy, you signed an understanding of what our policies and procedures are. Any parent who has a pattern of leaving our premises while their child is in therapy, unfortunately, will be subject to discharge.
3) We have a courtesy HOLD of 30 days and no more whether for change in insurance or any other extenuating circumstance. All 30-day HOLDs must be cleared with the front office and the Clinic Director.
4) We adhere strictly to our 90% attendance policy. If your child is not in therapy, they cannot learn and make progress. Please work with your treating therapist to do all makeups and keep your attendance up. We are here to help your child and cannot do so if they have poor attendance.
5) All cancellations or rescheduling of visits should be made with as much notice as possible. We ask for 24 hours in advance notice when you know you cannot make a visit.

We would like to inform all patients with Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) insurance that insurance benefits reset at the beginning of the new year. This means that all copays, coinsurance amounts, deductibles, and out-of-pocket maximums will reset.
As a result, payments for visits will be charged at the full allowed amount until your deductible is met. Depending on your specific BCBS plan, you may or may not have a deductible.
Below are the allowed amounts that will apply until your deductible is met:

Visits: $68.24
Re-evaluation: $234.19
Feeding Therapy (FD):
Initial Evaluation: $67.73

Once your deductible has been met, your copay or coinsurance amounts will then apply according to your plan benefits.

As of today we are 2 visits behind and with the upcoming holiday break we will be behind 4 more visits resulting in 6 make up visits needed. As of next week we will reduce therapy to 1 time a week due to the difficulty you may be having attending scheduled therapy appointments. I understand make up visits can be difficult for your schedule and commute, and this would reduce the make up visits to 4 visits. I know we discussed scheduling for Monday at 11:30. I can keep that appointment as well as the Wednesday appointment to count toward the make up visits we need and then Thursday would count as our regular weekly visit. The 2 remaining visits can be scheduled for the first of the year when we return. Please let me know if that works for you or if you have any questions or concerns. |

| 01-22-2026 03:32 PM | Katelyn Vera | Hello! Per our discussion, this is would be the final warning regarding late arrivals and cancelations within our 24-hour policy. Any future late arrivals or cancelations within 24-hours of our scheduled time will result in a discharge from speech therapy services. Beginning 12/15/25 we reduced frequency to 1x week in an effort to accommodate. We discussed that at that time we were 1 visit behind and would need to make up the 2 visits from the Christmas break putting us at 3 visits needing to be made up on 1/8, 1/15, and 1/22. With yesterday’s missed visit, that puts us behind 4 visits. I can schedule for the next 4 Thursdays 1/29, 2/5, 2/12 and 2/19 to ensure we are adhering to our 90% attendance policy. Please keep in mind that we can no longer accommodate any late arrivals or same day cancelations. As I mentioned, there is the option of telehealth with our teletherapist. Please let me know how you would like to proceed and if you have any questions. |
