The Goldman-Fristoe-3 Test of Articulation (GFTA-3) was administered to determine whether Mazi has acquired age appropriate articulatory and phonological skills when compared to age matched peers. Mazi's standard score in sounds-in-words (89), indicating articulation/phonological skills at the word level to be WNL. His standard score in sounds-in-sentences (82), indicating a MILD articulation/phonological skills at the sentence level. Scores increased with therapy significantly. As always, we at New Beginnings strive to keep our patients, parents, therapists, and staff safe and healthy. We have thermometers in our front lobbies and will be checking for high temperatures as we begin the traditional time of year for an increase in flu, colds, and COVID. Any child or parent with a temperature of 100 degrees and above will be asked to reschedule for another day & time.
If you or your child or someone in your home has COVID, we continue to ask that you stay home and quarantine to stop the spread. The CDC urges people sick with symptoms of respiratory viruses to stay home until their fever has disappeared for at least 24 hours without relying on fever-lowering medications.

Please do not come to therapy if you or your child are experiencing the following symptoms: fever, body aches, chills, vomiting, diarrhea, headache. Your treating therapist would be happy to reschedule your visit for you.

1. Appointment Scheduling & Cancellations:
To provide the best care for all our clients, we kindly request at least [24 hours] notice for cancellations or

3. Billing & Payment:
Please ensure all insurance information is correct with our front office for billing.

For those with private insurance, your yearly deductibles and co-pays started anew on January 1, 2025.
If you have questions, you are welcome to contact your insurance to learn more about your particular
Healthplan benefits.
4. Policies:
Do not leave our premises while your child is in therapy for any reason
We require 90% attendance for all therapies, make-ups are necessary
Children under 6 must be accompanied to the restroom
Co-pays are due at the time of service

We wanted to take a moment to keep you informed about an issue that may affect your experience with us. Tricare is currently experiencing technical difficulties with their technology systems and initial and re-authorizations. As a result, there may be temporary delays in authorizations for your child’s therapy.

Please know that we are closely monitoring the situation and working with Tricare to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. They have stated a need of 4-8 weeks for their system issues to be resolved as their subcontractor insurance switched from Healthnet Federal Services to Triwest Alliance on 01/01/2025. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding during this time.

We would like to inform you of an important update regarding therapy services. Due to a recent change in Tricare’s process, all patients are now required to be seen by their Primary Care Provider (PCP/PCM) and have an updated referral submitted to Tricare before we can request authorization for therapy.

Please note:
-The referral end date provided by your PCP/PCM will determine the authorization period for therapy services.
-If possible, we recommend requesting a referral period of up to one year, as this will help reduce the number of required follow-up visits.
-If you are unsure whether a current referral is on file, please contact your PCP/PCM or Tricare Referral Management directly.

This change began earlier this month. While we are actively reviewing all existing referrals, we kindly ask for your assistance in scheduling an appointment with your PCP/PCM and ensuring an updated referral is submitted to help avoid any delays in therapy services.

If you are able to view your referral end date, please be aware that your child will need to be seen again before that date to continue services.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation during this transition. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact our office.

Mazi did pretty well today, except was a little bit distracted with siblings and required me to redirect a little more, but nothing terrible! We worked on the final /s/ in words. There were times where he substituted with a /t/ sound, but after I would prompt him to say it correctly, he would do so easily. I did have to give him a short 2-min break as he became tired, but worked through the session well. Let me know if you have questions. Thanks!

It is through zoom… with that said, we do have room in our plan of care for a few extra visits that the insurance allowed for and I can schedule an extra zoom session in the next weeks. Let me know :) his current authorization ends May 20th, and after that we will start on the new goals. I’ll let you know about those when I write his new plan of care!

01-06-2026 11:07 AMDaniella AnchondoHi! Hope you're feeling well!! I spoke to the front office about services for Mani (I hope I'm spelling it right). They mentioned we do have room for him at the Zaragoza location - not sure who might have mentioned that you would probably need to go to our Rich Beem location. Do you have preferred times for therapy? I want to let the front office know just to try to best accommodate you. We received the referral already and they did tell me they would send you all intake forms as soon as possible and begin process. I will be completing that evaluation once it's ready for me. Mazi's schedule will continue as is up until the end of February, and then we will transition to zoom in March. I know availability in the afternoons is a little tight at the clinic, so would mornings possibly work for you as far as treatment for him? If anything, I can begin services with him to try and see them back to back up until the end of February for your convenience, but then he will have to go to a different therapist and I'm not sure what time they would have available.
